The thing I like about looking at other bikes - any bikes, expensive or not - is the way in which the owner has made them his or her own - the customizations, the add-ons, the stuff that makes it THEIR bike. I have seen and admired many bikes that I wouldn't want to ride myself but which are expressions of who the owner is and how they ride. Some people go for the ultimate in French randonneuring beauty while others like a revived frame with custom parts and fenders with a leopard skin job. It's all good. At least in my eyes.
