Paul:

The bike looks great & quite versatile. I have an Atlantis & find it quite
adaptable to conditions. But....now you may have re-opened the "front load
vs rear load" issue for Rivendell owners.

In one of the pics, you show a large front bag plus panniers on low riders
on the front, with a single bag on top of the rear rack. If this was all
the bags, it suggests a large proportion of your luggage weight on the
front.

One side of this discussion claims Rivendells are designed to be "rear
loaders" & may have, shall we say, handling issues if loads are biased
toward the front. My personal experience is that my Atlantis handles better
with at least a decent portion of the load on the front.

So the question lurking in the above is: What is your experience with load
placement? Front bias? Rear bias? Don't notice? Looking forward to your
thoughts on the subject.

Subject: {BL} Pictures of my Recent rack and fender installation.

I've finally put some pictures on Flickr of my Velo Orange rack and
fender installation. The link is here:

for those interested. I tried to make extensive comments about the
things that didn't turn out quite perfect and steps I would watch out
for in the future. All in all, I'm very happy with things as they are
though.
