As someone who does to a lot of distro packaging for rpm, splitting these
monolithic packages into more discrete components is definitely a sane thing to
do. To the contrary, continuing to keep all the bits in its current form makes
builds and maintenance a chore.
I would hope it lands both in Bigtop and Hadoop.
