Roman Shaposhnik commented on BIGTOP-515:
-----------------------------------------
Great progress, Victor! I applied it locally and it seems to build without a
problem. A couple of questions on what I see in the resulting package:
# what's the need for /usr/lib/hama/{logs,conf} symlinks? Can Hama be
configured not to rely on those?
# given that Hama is now YARN aware we need to get rid of
./usr/lib/hama/lib/hadoop-core.jar symlink since that doesn't exist in Hadoop
2.X
Now, at this point the patch is almost ready for inclusion, but before we do
that I'd like to:
# have a small smoke tests (something like running Hama examples) be included
in bigtop-tests/test-artifacts/hama. It doesn't have to be fancy but it has to
give a way of smoke-testing Hama. You can start with simply taking
bigtop-tests/test-artifacts/mahout/ source tree and modifying it accordingly.
# have some understanding of whether we need to provide /etc/init.d scripts
for BSP Master node and Groom node
Sounds good?
