This article from Wired's Autopia section discusses a new report from an insurance industry risk-assessment group that correlated traffic ticket issuance with car model and found that Hummer drivers attract traffic tickets at nearly *five* times the average rate:

Nearly five times the average.

It's particularly astounding because young people-- who are also pulling in tickets are higher-than-average rates-- are less likely to be able to afford to drive such a vehicle.

The article is great, not the least for the large, attractive photo of a smashed and disabled Hummer that it features. Shots like that are like porn for an old human-powered geek like me. Thought I don't much like the way it's blocking a crosswalk.
