Hello all.. this is a HUGE policy decision...I think Madison SHOULD have a part in choosing where the station(s) should be....since we're paying for the bulk of building them AND continuing costs...I've been active in the Campaign for Yahara Station..today's cover story about a further in location certainly deserves thoughtful consideration...for more info go to this facebook site http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Yes-to-Yahara-Station/345562783166?ref=ss or this internet site http://www.rationaltransportation.org/yesyahara/ also see attached the City Committee that I chair, The Downtown Coordinating Committee's recommendation on this issue and the impressively worded letter by the Emerson East Neighbors in support...(actually email me if you want...attachments wouldn't post to bikies) This policy decision could help regenerate so much that would be great for Madison and our ENTIRE region; Sustainable transit, Transit Oriented Development and much more. The Airport location would be a major mistake as the main station for multimodal..IMHO....and could kill the potential of the line to be funded to continue onto the Twin Cities....we have got to do this right. Here's to hoping the Council will begin discussing this soon!!! The location decision will be up to the governor and WisDOT, and until now there hasn't been much opportunity for formal comment. Now WisDOT has a survey out looking for input on rail planning, and there is a general comment section at the end where you could address the station issue:
