Machinery Row Bicycles is providing a Bike Fed membership to every Wisconsinite who buys any bike there through the end of the year, and Williamson Bicycle Works is running a similar membership campaign through the end of July. Also in July, Budget Bicycle Center, Middleton Cycle, Village Pedaler (Monona) and Trek Stores-Madison will award complimentary Bike Fed memberships to every non-member who buys a Trek bike. "Right now we have a great opportunity in Wisconsin to improve cycling infrastructure," Luke Bachelor-Clark, store manager at Machinery Row, told the Alliance for Biking & Walking's People-Powered Blog. "The Bike Federation is the group that will navigate the political scene and make things happen. ... There are tens of thousands of people who are interested in better biking and just don't know how to get involved and have their voices heard." I would encourage all of you to personally thank the owners/managers of these stores. These programs will provide a big boost in Bike Fed membership! Hans Noeldner
