Did you read, or view on YouTube, the eye witness accounts of the crime? I counsel that you do so, then see if you still find my... ah... action verb to be objectionable enough to warrant your public challenge thereof.
My studied opinion of this event is that it was a plain and simple whitewash to protect a political insider. I don't think it's a controversial opinion, but by all means ask around.
You are, of course, welcome to your informed contrary opinion. But Wikipedia, despite its copious charms, is not a primary source.
Having said all that, Darcy Allan Sheppard was clearly out of control and lacked good judgement. But I don't think I'd kill him, or risk killing him, to get away from him if, like Bryant, I'd just banged into him with my convertible. If I did, I'd expect at a minimum to face an open court proceeding rather than a dismissal of charges based upon a single-source report prepared by another political insider.
