There was a series of muggings and sexual assaults on that path a few years ago. That person apparently was caught, but there has been a new series of assaults both in that area and on the East side bike path, off Atwood. There's been some coverage in the local papers:

I leave nearby am only infrequently on the path so this is the first I've heard of the safety patrol or the muggings. Anyone know more?
