Please pass on the following to Village Board Dear Village of Maple Bluff Village Board,
Thank you for your unanimous approval of the the improvements on North Sherman Ave through the Village. This is going to make the entire corridor much more pleasant and safer for all road users: pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and transit users. The North Sherman Ave corridor is one that I rarely visit, in part because it is so difficult to access via bike. Even when I do come through by car, it is often difficult to turn into businesses because of the heavy traffic and the concern that I will be rear ended when waiting to make a turn. If I miss the turn, it is almost impossible to double back, so I just skip visiting those locations. I know there are many businesses that I would like to visit, and the roadway improvements will make it much easier to do so. I am very much looking forward to the completion of the work. In addition to better access to businesses, including those in Maple Bluff, I think your residents will find accessing the entire village much easier once there is a dedicated turn lane. Those taking transit will be able to cross the street much more easily, and those traveling by bike will also benefit. Thank you for your support.
