You should be able to click on the lines above and have the issue paper open
in your browser. What has been happening at JFC is that as the committee
takes up an item, one of the recommended options in the papers is moved,
then voted on. Members have the option of introducing their own amendment
as well. Generally, the republicans have been steamrolling the votes 12-4,
so I recommend you spend your time with an ask that has a chance of passing
muster with the hard-core conservatives, who are concerned about the massive
borrowing in the transportation budget.

Subject: [Bikies] URGENT: WI transportation budget

I would urge all readers of this blog to please contact members of the Joint
Committee on Finance as well as your own state senator and state
representative and tell them the following:

(1) Restore the 10% cut to transit

(2) Keep transit in the dedicated transportation fund

(3) Use the maximum amount of MAP-21 funding for bicycling and pedestrian
amenities rather than diverting it to motor vehicle uses

(4) Reduce spending (and borrowing) for interstate highways - put WisDOT on
a diet!
