She is 70 and just getting back on a bike, although she is very enthusiastic and used to bike daily in Madison in her 40s and early 50s before moving away. I've been please to be able to take her on quiet, safe streets and connected bike paths for long distances - or long for her. The hardest part is getting her out of the development where she lives which has only one exit - onto a very busy, scary part of University Ave. But we walk across that intersection at a signal and then are on the new, wide, smooth new pavement on the south side of University west of Whitney Way.
