The event, that brings neighbors together for an evening of fun and food, will begin on the northside on Tuesday evenings in August. The northside series kicks off Tuesday, August 6 from 5:00-7:30 and continues on August 13, August 20, and August 27at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 2126 N. Sherman Ave. Madison Meet & Eat is an initiative by Madison Mayor Paul Soglin to bring together community members and local food vendors in order to address "food deserts." A food desert is defined as an area where healthy, affordable food is difficult to obtain. Madison Meet & Eat will address this issue by introducing attendees to new and local food options in a fun, neighborhood atmosphere, with each vendor having at least one option under $3. In addition to the Tuesday nights on the northside, Madison Meet & Eat will continue on Thursday evenings in the Meadowood neighborhood near the Meadowood Shopping Center, 5800 Raymond Road. Bring your friends and family to the Meet & Eat to enjoy healthy, local foods and the company of your neighbors. Due to limited parking, guests are encouraged to walk, bike or take the bus.
