More volunteers are still needed for the bicycle and pedestrian counts that
are scheduled for Thursday, September 10 and Saturday, September 14.

Please volunteer to help out. There are many locations across the city, so
something is sure to be close to either your home or work.

More information can be found here:

It would be great if everyone on this list could also pass it on to other
lists, neighborhood groups, friends, or other interested folks. There is a
training to help out, so you don't have to know anything about bicycling
(or walking), and you can even do the count with someone else, so bring a
friend or family member!

This is something very easy, but very important that we can all do to help
improve bicycling or walking in the city. "What is not measured is not
managed." I.E. If the city doesn't have a count for how many bicyclists or
pedestrians are using our streets and paths, it is harder to justify
facilities and programs.

I assure you that everyone is very clear how many cars move through the
streets, come and go from parking ramps, and clog up intersections. Now we
need to count those who are not using motors to get around.
