Since starting work at the UW, I've been doing it every day for almost two years, through all the construction projects. Yesterday, I had a meeting father west just after work and was surprised by the path being blocked off on the west side of Highland. I carefully wove through the gravel, dirt, other bicyclists, cars, and construction barricades before cutting through the VA parking lot for a few dozen feet and then jumping back on the path. I glanced back over my shoulder to see the sign on the barricaded path facing pedestrians and bicyclists headed east: "Sidewalk closed. Use other side." Very helpful.
