Quoting Torrey <[email protected]>:

I agree. Text e-mail (not HTML), with links (full URLs starting with http) to relevant documents on the web is the most efficient way to go. This is the Internet equivalent of fuel efficient cars. Or better yet, the bicycle.

The listserver doesn't ban attachments, but it does have a limitation on the size of posts. The limitation has 2 motivations * technological - in the olden days, some computers or servers had trouble handling large files. This limitation is probably moot for all users.

* usability - a lot of people don't like handling large documents via email, or find it more efficient to pass around URLs. Its also easier to share documents via links.

The position of the list administrator is:

I'm open to bumping up the size limit to something like 30Mb. This should allow sending small or medium-sized documents.
But this list isn't really intended for distributing large documents.

If you have any comments on this, send them to the list administrator (me) directly.
