Allstate crunched the numbers to come up with a metric and a ranking for the quality of motor vehicle drivers in 200 US cities. Madison comes in at (drum roll, please) number 6. That's at the desired end of the ranking.

I'm currently staying in Los Angeles, which is ranked 191/200, and it's very very believable. All the speed limits here are at least 5mph too high, and ignored nonetheless. By people who never put down their cellphones for even a moment. PS Okay, I'm really in Pasadena CA - ranked 167/200.
