The New Yorker has created this 8:30 split-screen YouTube video putting 1930's film shot from moving vehicles next to quite synchronous video from the modern day. It's interesting to see how many more cyclists - transortation and recreation both - there are today than there were then. Also, the day of the marked crosswalk and the pedestrian crossing signal had not arrived - peds crossed willy-nilly.
