There is a very important meeting occurring in just a couple weeks that will give us all some insight into what is being planned for the upcoming McKee Road reconstruction project. We need this major thoroughfare rebuilt to include ALL modes of travel and attention to providing access for people of ALL abilities! Do you want businesses and neighborhoods in Fitchburg to be accessible by everyone within the community? Well, this project needs your support!! The McKee Road reconstruction project indeed needs to include ROBUST, WELL-THOUGHT OUT, EQUITABLE facilities for: biking, walking, strolling, jogging, running, skateboarding, scooter(ing), people walking with mobility aids, people in wheelchairs, other people with disabilities, etc... YES!, Bike Fitchburg Board members, advisors and bicycle transportation improvement proponents, I ask you to attend this meeting and support safe cycling in the City of Fitchburg. This one is a very hot item: McKee Road Reconstruction Open House A Public Open House has been scheduled for Thursday, October 3 ,2019 from 6:30-8:00pm to present the final plans and findings for the McKee Rd Reconstruction project. The meeting will be held at Stark Realty, Conference Room, 2980 Arapaho Dr. (Corner of Seminole Highway/McKee Road-Access from Pineway Trail). Details on the announcement/flyer are available on the project page for viewing. Finally, please read through the document and review the comments made by our group (Bike Fitchburg, Inc.) supporting the consultant recommended Alternative “C” and giving a thorough explanation as to why other alternatives come up short!
