Biking friends:

The Wisconsin Bike Fed is our powerful state-wide advocacy organization, working to advance bicycle funding and foster better policies with the Wisconsin Governor and Legislature. Recent victories include:
o State Building Commission funding for the connection between
Wisconsin Highway 100 and the Hank Aaron State Trail
o Governor's declaration of bike shops as essential services
in his "safer at home" order

The Bike Fed continues to work statewide to:
o Insure all federal Transportation Alternatives Program is spent as
intended on bicycling, walking, safety, and transit as intended and
     not diverted to roads
o Reinstate Wisconsin's Complete Streets statute, the only one in
     America to be repealed
o Renew the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program for 10 years with
     increased funding
o Enact laws to protect vulnerable road users and further discourage
     distracted driving
o Restore the right of local and county governments to condemn
property for bicycle and pedestrian projects, as they can for roads
o Repair and reopen the Stewart Tunnel on the Badger State Trail

The Bike Fed also supports local advocacy groups like Bike Fitchburg, Madison Bikes, Sun Prairie Moves, and JUST Bikes with technical advice, events, financial and grant management, and local education and safety programs.

The Wisconsin Bike Fed derives most of its funding from memberships and donations. If you are not yet a member, please join!
