Actually, parts of the path reconstruction near Machinery Row are part of the Blair Street project, which also includes the Willy/Wilson/Blair/John Nolen intersection: https://www.cityofmadison.com/engineering/projects/blair-street-south
The project is currently slated for 2022. Current plans include closing one of the Machinery Row Driveways and a minor reroute of the path to pull it away from the street a bit at the remaining intersection: https://www.cityofmadison.com/sites/default/files/city-of-madison/engineering/documents/2020_08_07%20Preliminary%20Intersection%20Project%20Layout.pdf However, those plans are not final construction documents, so things could change....
