My recommendation would be to use at least 8.2-RELEASE. At that point
you may wish to upgrade to 8-stable to get the latest BIND (9.6.3), or
install 9.6.3 from ports. You'll want to do some basic regression
testing on your named config and zone files on an off-line system before
performing the upgrade in production.
