Nortel had acquired the application switch product line in October 2000 when it purchased Alteon WebSystems.[36][37] On June 19, 2009, Nortel announced a stalking horse bid from Nokia Siemens Networks to purchase Nortel's CDMA and LTE assets for $650 million.
