Dear Bioacoustics, The Smooth Ridge hydrophone [ http://www.mbari.org/underwater-microphone-provides-tantalizing-new-perspective-on-monterey-bay/ ] picked up some pretty unusual clicks first couple of days of this month.
Examples have been posted to: https://aguasonic.com/files/MARS_20160902_UTC-13_s613745530_DSd-48ksps.mp3 https://aguasonic.com/files/MARS_20160902_UTC-14_s333314571_DSd-48ksps.mp3 https://aguasonic.com/files/MARS_20160902_UTC-23_s500368696_DSd-48ksps.mp3 Unlike most clicks we work with, these are actually very much human-audible, center frequency around 1kHz. Lower than Cachalot even. As such, I really have no idea what would be making clicks like these. Has anyone seen/heard clicks like this before? Comments? Sincerely, Mark Fischer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ https://aguasonic.com/
