git merge --allow-unrelated-histories upstream/master And then resolving conflicts: git add DESCRIPTION git commit -m "Fixed conflicts in version change" However, I didn�t delete any lines in DESCRIPTION. (between ===== and >>>>>>). Do you think it would be OK?
