To: [email protected] To members of the bioinformatics interest group: I hope everyone had a great summer! The steering committee has been very busy to set up some great meetings for the rest of the year. The next meeting will be in building 50, the first floor conference room, on September 11th from 3:45PM to 5PM. We will have two speakers: Arjun Prasad from NISC will be speaking about the analysis of a genome assembly. Steven Fellini and Susan Chacko from CIT will be talking about the single largest computing resource on campus, Biowulf. They will be highlighting its capabilities and research based on it. In addition, please note that we have scheduled the next 3 meetings in the same room. The dates are as follows: December 18, 2013 (3:45pm-5:00pm) March 19, 2014 (3:45pm-5:00pm) May 21, 2014 (3:00pm-5:00pm) Please put them in your schedule! Also, we have been busy putting together a survey to ask you what you want from the interest group. We are putting the finishing touches on it, so expect it soon!
