[Birds associated with water can be difficult to find at Point Pelee in
mid-winter; this article describes 11 locations — in addition to Lake
Erie — where areas of unfrozen water can be found]

POINT PELEE CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT:  DECEMBER 16, 2002 —  Sarah Rupert
[51 observers found 83 species and 32,799 individuals; no new species
were recorded, but new record-high counts were tallied for Bald Eagle,
Sharp-shinned Hawk and American Crow.]
