Posting for Brian Morin who is anticipating a spectacular bird migration
event of thousands of Snow Geese in eastern Ontario with even more in
Quebec.

Small numbers of Snow Geese passed over Cornwall during the week. Late this
afternoon about 500 were present in fields with corn stubble east of
Casselman along with thousands of Canadas. All of the birds were on the
move, flying and "walking" east through the fields, periodically lifting
off and repeating the process.

Exit Hwy 417 at Hwy 138 east of Casselman. Go north over the overpass and
turn right at concession 20 (1 km) . If there are any geese in the fields
to the north at this intersection check it out. They were there at noon.
Proceed east 3 km to St. Rose Rd and turn left. Go 1 km north to
concession 19. The birds were on the left late in the day but the entire
area could be checked.

This is not the traditional site for Snow Goose numbers. Check just east of
Bourget at Cobb Creek or again in the Riceville area. The main flight will
likely occur within a week to 10 days.
