The first two Little Gulls have arrived at the Oshawa Second Marsh. Other species of note: 1 pair of Canvasbacks ( bred in the marsh last year) 142 Bonaparte's gulls 13 species of waterfowl
Lake Ontario off the Second Marsh to Bonniebrae Point 2 Red-necked Grebes (Off Bonnibrae point) 1 caspian Tern (Bonniebrae point) small numbers of White-winged and Surf Scoters, and Double-crested Cormorants several hundred Long-tailed Ducks, Greater Scaup, and Common Goldeneyes Directions To Oshawa Second marsh/ McLaughlin reserve Directions: Exit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit in Oshawa. Go south to Colonel Sam Drive. Go east on Colonel Sam Drive to the parking lot at the GM. Headquarters. Park in the nw parking lot closet to the marsh. The east platform is located here. To see the Lake Ontario waterbirds proceed along the path from the parking lot south to the lakeshore. Bonniebrae point Exit the 401 in Oshawa at Simcoe St. Follow Simcoe st south to Oshawa Harbour. Take a right onto Lakeview park Ave. On the west side of Lakeview park is Kluane ave.
