Hi there; The results for 3 owls routes here in the Sault are in; One route on St. Joseph Island yielded 2 Barred Owls on April 7. On April 12, a route near Echo Bay yielded 1 Barred Owl, 2 Long Eared Owls & 1 Northern Saw whet Owl. American Woodcock & Ruffed Grouse were also displaying. On April 13, a route near Poplar Dale yielded 6 Barred Owls, 4 Northern Saw whet Owls, 2 Great Horned Owls & 1 Long Eared Owl. Once again, the woodcocks were quite active. Overall, the inland lakes are still frozen & there is still a foot & a half of snow in the bush much like during a March survey. Joanne & Bob Knudsen Sault Ste. Marie, ON
