At least five (5) Black-crowned Night Herons have returned to Shoreacres Creek (Paletta Park) in Burlington. We saw them for the first time today but a neighbour reports he saw them on Monday, April 21. That is two days earlier than our sighting last year.
Directions to Paletta Park: On Lakeshore Road, midway between Appleby Line and Walkers Line on south (lake) side. There is a parking lot in front of the mansion and a trail to take you around by the creek where the birds roost all day.
