A PILEATED WOODPECKER was seen at Holiday Beach Conservation Area by Ian
Cannell & Michael Biro at 15.00, on May 15th, 2003.   Two sets of "wek" call
notes had been heard by Biro at 14.00.  The bird (sex unknown) was observed
flying through the new Prothonotary Warbler habitat.  Also seen at this
location at 14.30 was a previously reported PRAIRIE WARBLER.   Nearby, among
a total of 21 warbler species, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, CAPE
MAY WARBLER, BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER and CERULEAN WARBLER
were observed.


Travelling West on County Road 20 from Leamington, passing through
Kingsville & Comber, at Malden Centre, turn left at County Road 50 and go 2
Km South. Holiday Beach Conservation Area is on your right.
