On Monday, October 27, I along with Dave Jolly and Janice Ball observed a MERLIN circling over the grass area of Cavendish Park in downtown London. The bird also perched on a small sugar maple about 30 metres from us for approx. 10 minutes, allowing several photos to be taken by Dave Jolly.
Cavendish Park is situated near the forks of the Thames River in downtown London. The park can be reached by taking Wharncliffe Rd north and turning left onto Wyatt St. (1 block S of Riverside Dr.), which runs into Cavendish Cres.
