Winds were very strong and gusty from the west-northwest. Observations: Only a few hours were spent at the watch as few birds flew as might well be expected. With the strong winds, a shallow channel was all that remained of the inlet at the boat launch. The gulls were busily taking advantage of the land locked food supply and noted among the regular species were an adult Great Black-backed Gull and a first winter Glaucous Gull. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
