Dean DiTommaso had the adult CALIFORNIA GULL below the control gates at Niagara Falls today. This is the one with obvious red on the bill, a different bird than the one at the power plants. The latter bird was seen Sunday but when Dean was there today there were very few gulls (around 11:00). Considering the cold windy weather, this seems very unusual but this has been an odd year in that gulls have been absent when you don't expect it and then return.
Still lots of Bonys around and an adult LITTLE GULL was above the falls. An adult Thayer's-type was below the control gates. Good birding!
