Ontbirders,

As of 4:30 this rainy Thursday afternoon, the Black-backed Woodpecker was
busily working the Pine trees on the west side of the washrooms in Serena
Gundy Park.

Judging by the markings on the trees, it seems that he has been about for
some time and plans to stay put.

Directions: The park is on the west side of Leslie St across from the Inn on
the Park on Enginton. From the Don Valley Parkway exit Eglinton West. At
the entrance bear right(north). As the road winds left and takes you to the
first set of washrooms. Continue on until you come to a large parking lot.
Park at the far end of this west lot. Walk across the bridge and bear left
to the second set of washrooms. This is the spot. Stop! Look! and Listen!
The bird was working the Pines on the west side of the washrooms.

This same asphalt path came be approached from Broadway off Brentcliffe. As
you come down the hill bear right to the washrooms.

Happy Spring birding,
