The Le Conte's Sparrow, a stunning breeding-plumaged male, was still being seen at 3.15pm today, April 27th. It has moved westward and into the woods, and is foraging among the dried leaves on the ground more like a White-throated Sparrow. It was 100 metres due south of the sightings book when I left, just where the ground level starts to rise. It does not seem perturbed by people and allows very close views.
Park on the north side of the woods on the Waterfront Trail Road which runs eastward near the south end of Thickson Road, Exit 412 off Hwy.401. Enter through the gate into the woods and continue going south on the trails till you reach the sightings book in its green wooden stand. Margaret Bain Cobourg [EMAIL PROTECTED]
