The Third Annual Pelee Island Bird Race ended at noon today. Nine teams participated from as far away as Cuba. Overall winners were the Red-necked Dweebs (Ethan Meleg, Steve Pike, and Dean Ware) with 140 species; top 'green' team (bicycle only) was 'Plovers in a Dangerous Time' (Rob Tymstra, Darrell Parsons) with 134 species. The total number of species seen by all teams was 171 species.
