HI birders,
With the very strong north winds this afternoon, I took the afternoon to go
birding (!). Things were slow until about 4 p.m. when a juv. Black-legged
Kittiwake showed up fairly close and disappeared down the St. Clair River.
About ten minutes later, Paul Pratt arrived, and as I was telling him about
it, it came back out of the river. A few minutes later a Parasitic Jaeger
(juv.) showed up fairly close and disappeared down the river.
Later on I had another jaeger far out, but could not get a handle on it. I
had several looks at the kittiwake (or possibly another) off and on until 5
p.m.
Other birds included the usual species for this time of year, i.e. gulls,
ducks, Sanderlings, and a Peregrine Falcon.

Directions to Point Edward lighthouse: Find Front St. in Sarnia (along
river in downtown) and follow it to its very north end,1.2 km from 402
overpass. Turn left onto Victoria Ave. and travel 1.1 km to Fort St.
(right, north side). Go to end of street and you will see parking lot.
