Greetings all,

This morning I did a 30 minute (0800-0830) check of the calm lake from
Beach 1 and saw an immature B-l Kittiwake, "female" King Eider, 2
Red-throated Loon, a Red-necked Grebe and two ad. Little Gull - all off
Beach One. Most of the birds were associated with big mixed
gull/merganser flocks that are chasing fish around Popham Bay. There
are many thousands of ducks and several thousand gulls offshore from the
beach - I'm going back to do a more careful search. There was also one
Snowy Owl sitting on Beach 4 and another barely visible through the haze
on Sebastopol Pt.

Cheers,

Doug McRae
