Birders,

This afternoon, around 4:30pm I had two CAVE SWALLOWS flying around the end of
Fruitland Rd. in Stoney Creek (where it meets Lake
Ontario). I first spotted one bird flying around the backyard of the house (on
the western side) and then saw the second fly into
view. The birds appeared to have come from the west, and then spent roughly 10
minutes flying around (usually no more than 5ft off
the ground/water) and right along the shore. After getting some poor photos,
and some long and close views, I can say they did not
appear to be Cliff Swallows.

Good Birding!

DIRECTIONS:

To get to Fruitland rd. Exit the QEW at Fruitland rd. and follow the road North
to the Lake. The birds moved to the east and were
not seen when I left around 5pm, so other stops on the lake would be worth
checking.
