Good morning everyone I just spoke with Mr Somerset (the homeowner) and happily, the Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was seen this morning (February 4). He told me that the 4 birders present this morning kindly left him a bag of bird seed by his mail box. Well done to those 4!!

This is on the wast side of 16 Mile Creek right down by the Lake Ontario. This fellow was pecking around the lights on the building on the south siude of the road and then dropped down on the ground. He was singing clearly and repetively. I was about 15 to 20 feet from the bird and could see the light throat, raised reddish tail and the lighter (but not white) stripe on the face. Port Royal is in Champlain Park, a development about 5 minutes from the entrance to the Champlain Bridge in Aylmer. After crossing the bridge from Ottawa, take the 2nd left and proceed toward Aylmer on the Aylmer Road. Right on Athel Doune, which is the 1st street past the 2nd traffic light. Turn left on Rue de St-Malo, next left is Port Royal. Larry Newman
