Sunday may be the last opportunity to observe this bird. They are filling
the canal starting Monday.

Subject: [Ontbirds]Snowy Egret Update - Ottawa [and image links]
The Snowy Egret was at Dows lake again this morning (had gone for a quick
look during a lull in the rain). It was near the area where the Lake
meets the canal (After you walk down the hill from the Arboretum parking
area just keep walking towards the right until you round the
bend....ColonelBy is the road that runs along that part of the canal/bike
path on the opposite side of the canal with Carleton University in the
distance). Link to image of what view greets you after you walk down the
hill from the Arboretum parking area:
http://www.pbase.com/golfpic/image/42502570 The Snowy Egret was seen at
spot "A" about 10 yards off the tip of that spot quite a few times over
the past few days...mainly in the early morning...infact on Friday, April
22nd it landed there twice and each time for about 15 minutes or longer
offering a very close up look at the bird. "B" is the boat dock/platform
area (I think that's what it is but I could be wrong) where the Egret was
feeding for quite some time on April 22nd. I often see birders near spot
"A" with their scopes and binoculars but the Snowy Egret was just around
the bend where the Lake meets the canal.
The Snowy Egret is often seen feeding in the area (near where the Lake
meets the canal) and was seen there again this morning. It flew away from
that spot at approximately 10:40am. If you look across the canal at that
spot you will see a sign with the number 10 on it (this is the area) right
on the wall. Link to image: http://www.pbase.com/golfpic/image/42502571
It has been a treat to observe this bird over the past few days. Along
the way I have taken a few photos to capture the experience. Some images
