Hello all,

Today (Sept 17) we decided to see what leftovers could be found at Van Wagner's beach after yesterday. The day's weather didn't hold a lot of promise, with such a light east breeze, and it didn't pick up much through the day but was well worth the six and a half hour stay. The highlight of the day was around 4:45, when Brandon Holden spotted a big group of Sabine's Gulls coming in and far to our left. There were seventeen of them in that squadron and they continued on, south over the Hydro towers behind us and left the lake. Previous to that we did have two separate sightings of clusters of five each. That made a day of twenty-seven, with more distant ones still on the horizon that we could barely see, but they decided not to leave the lake today. Also seen during the day were Parasitic Jaegers (3), Long-tailed Jaeger (1), Peregrine Falcon (1) and a Merlin.

Directions:

From the QEW (Burlington way),Take the QEW towards Niagara, going over the
skyway, or Eastport drive (lower level) exit at the Woodward
exit, turn right (towards the lake) at Woodward and go under the QEW and coming to stop lights at Beach Blvd.
If you were on Eastport Drive,(heading east from Burlington) you will turn
left at the lights at Woodward. Turn right at the Beach Blvd lights, and head east along the beach until you almost get to the Famous Hutch's fish & chip outlet. Park in the lot just before you get to Hutch's.
