Today, November 3,2005 I birded the Ottawa River from Britannia to Shirley's Bay. The viewing conditions were excellent with calm waters and I observed two Red-throated Loons off Shirley's Bay, 1 adult winter and an immature. Also present were 1 Common Loon, 8 Red-necked Grebe, 2 Horned Grebe, 7 Long-tailed Duck. and 100+ Common Goldeneye. At Remic Rapids, a male Barrow's Goldeneye was present in a flock of 50+ Common Goldeneye. Back in Carp the Carolina Wren was very vocal today possible due to the milder weather.
                                                           good birding
