Art Slaughter advises that as he was driving over the Burlington Skyway Bridge this morning around 8:30AM an adult Long-Tailed Jaeger flew past toward Hamilton Harbour. As this is an unusual sighting for this time of year birders may want to keep an eye out in case the bird is still around tomorrow.
The Skyway Bridge is between exits 88 and 100 on the Queen Elizabeth Way. I've had a few inquiries during the day regarding the Slaty-backed Gull status for today. No one has reported seeing the bird today to the best of my knowledge. The last report I had was from Mike Chomyshyn yesterday morning. If you have seen it, please let me know (respond to me privately). If I get any other reports or additional information, I will pass it along immediately. Good birding!
