At 2:00 p.m. I saw two PARAKEETS (SP) flying to the NE over Eglinton Ave. near
Duplex Ave. (in front of the offices of The Nature Conservancy of Canada). They
were screeching loudly. Pale underparts, so probably Monk Parakeets, but I saw
them only briefly and without binoculars.

Hi all,
A male Loggerhead Shrike was seen by myself and Ross Snider today,on a
private site near Woodstock.The bird was singing and actively flycatching in an
area of potential breeding habitat.
As the site was private and these birds are regulated endangered species,no
directions are given but I provide the sighting as a 'heads-up' to observers
to watch for colour-banded Loggerhead Shrikes. Colour banding is used by the
Eastern Loggerhead Shrike Recovery Program,of which Ross is an integral
part,to track the birds movements.
Colour banded Shrikes can be reported to the program by calling
1-800-956-6608.

Hi all!
I counted 17 of these birds, last reported by Mark Cranford on Sunday,
at ~2 p.m. to-day. They were hard to see as they were all hunkered down in
the willows(?) on the island in the lake - luckily a couple of them moved in
the background as I was scanning the many Canada Geese or I might have
missed them. The lake is just north of Hwy#3 - 1 road east of Nelles Corners
HN#20.
At Turkey Point I saw 2 Little Gull and at the Big Creek marsh lookout
a pair of displaying Pied-billed Grebes. 10 Sandhill Cranes in the field SW
of Hwy #59 and HN #42, another 2 further west and 2 more on West 1/4 Line.
