Overall bird activity and diversity remained mostly unchanged. The Tip area
was once again slow with few warblers present. Better success was had
further north at Tilden's Woods, DeLaurier and Sanctuary trails. Still some
effort was required to get good lucks at the birds. At least at Tilden's
Woods, most of the warblers were seen up high in the tops of the trees.

Highlights reported this morning include:

KIRTLAND'S WARBLER - 1 male singing at the NE corner of the DeLaurier Trail
at the northermost section of boardwalk at 7:30 a.m. Also present along the
DeLaurier trail was a couple Black-billed Cuckoos, Bay-breasted Warbler and
Cape May Warbler.

Black-billed Magpie *** - 1 at the Tip. Lots of people saw this bird but
its origin should be questioned, possibly an escapee. Also observed there
was Scarlet Tanager and a flyby Great Egret.

Tufted Titmouse - 1 observed at the Cemetery

Hooded Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Cerulean Warbler, Northern Parula,
Blackburnian Warbler, Ovenbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and two Eastern
Screech Owls at Tilden's Woods.

Tennessee Warbler, Cerulean Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler were present at
Sanctuary.

Bay-breasted Warbler and Golden-winged Warbler were observed at Black
Willow.

Reported yesterday (May 7th) at Hillman Marsh was Eurasian Wigeon,
"Eurasian Common Teal" and Red-necked Phalarope.
