Northwest winds and rising BP brought up to 15 observers to Cranberry for 4 hours this Nov.10 morning. In the first hour a Peregrine Falcon enthused us with many low-flying soaring "kettles" before perching in a willow tree for an hour. In the second hour Stan Long, from the north platform, noted 2 juvenile Golden Eagles. The third and fourth hours featured many kettling Red-tailed Hawks, creating a challenge for counting by our great viewers. While all of this was going on 4 Tundra Swans flew across the wetland from west to east. Among other things Ron Pittaway exclaimed "Hear it---chit chit--" of a Purple Finch flying past us, a Red-breasted Nuthatch almost landed on Dan's head, male and female Wood Ducks alit on the wetland, ----.

I wish to thank the observers who regularly come to take over, to take over when I must leave for the hospital, and to suggest helpful cooking hints!
