For the third summer in a row White Pelicans are present on Lake Nipissing.
On May 27 and 28 Travis Fryer observed and photographed three birds on the
lake off Garden Village (Nippissing First Nations), east of Sturgeon Fall.
Today June 4 he observed a flock of 11 White Pelicans in the same area.
Directions:
Take Highway 17 between North Bay and Sturgeon Falls. The road to Garden
Village is goes south from Highway 11 near Sturgeon Falls. In the summer of
2005 and 2006 adults were also observed on Goose Island in the middle of
Lake Nipissing.
